Variety Shows in the 1940s and 1950s

Variety Shows 1940-1950s

Variety Shows not only brought the community together but was used to raise money for the volunteer fire department.  The citizens of ”the hill” used funds to purchase a small used pumper unit from government surplus for $276. That unit was eventually installed on an old Corbett crash truck purchased from North Island Naval Air Station. The whole hilltop worked together to raise money with not only variety shows but also barbeques, horse shows, dinners and dances, rummage sales and more.
